KIRCHHOFFS LAVENDER ANGUSTIFOLIA

Astrongly aromatic shrub growing as high as 1 to 2 metres. The leaves are evergreen. The flowers are pinkish-purple (lavender-coloured), produced on spikes at the top of slender, leafless stems. L. angustifolia is the easiest of all the lavender species to grow, and is often used in herb and rose gardens.

Famous for its distinctive fragrance, flowers and leaves are used to produce oil, and as an ingredient in cooking for sweet or savory dishes. As with all edible flowers, use sparingly until you know how they affect you, especially if you have plant allergies. COMPANION Lavender plays well with cabbage and cauliflower. It is useful in deterring codling moths from around fruit trees.
