Not from the Spinach (beet) family. New Zealand or tetragonia spinach is a bushy, fast-growing perennial with fuzzy, succulnet like leaves. Also referred to as “ice plant” this plant thrives in hot conditions and provides a large amount of leaves for salads and cooked greens in mid-summer.
